Information:

Drawing on the field of Interpersonal Neurobiology, the course weaves together research from neuroscience, psychotherapy, cognitive science, developmental psychology, evolutionary biology and related disciplines to provide an integrated understanding of human functioning. Participants develop a deeper understanding of how the brain, body and relationships continually influence one another, enriching both their theoretical knowledge and clinical practice.

During the course, we will be considering the following questions:

  • How does our evolution and brain development effect who we become in the world?

  • Why do psychotherapy and counselling work?

  • What are the neurological mechanisms of psychotherapeutic change?
