What Will I Learn in Clinical Year Two?
In clinical year two students will continue to deepen their knowledge of psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis, and trauma-informed practice.
After accumulating 100 hours of client work in a placement setting, clinical year two students you are eligible to be signed off for private practice as a trainee psychotherapist. To be signed off you need to be observed by a tutor at the college and have your TA supervision write you a letter of endorsement.
Psychotherapy training takes place in East Sussex, near Lewes, UK.
Multi-Leveled Year Groups
For the clinical years, students from all three years of training learn together within a single cohort. This creates a rich and dynamic learning environment where students benefit from a diversity of perspectives, experiences, and stages of development. To ensure a supportive and engaging environment, each cohort is limited to a maximum of 12 students.
Rolling Curriculum
Our clinical programme follows a three-year rolling curriculum, allowing students to explore Transactional Analysis in depth from a range of perspectives. One year focuses on Schools of Transactional Analysis, providing a thorough grounding in the major TA approaches and theories. A second year explores Professional Practice, covering the ethical, relational, and practical aspects of working as a psychotherapist. The third year focuses on Specialisms, examining the application of TA to a variety of client groups, presenting issues, and areas of clinical interest. Together, these three strands provide a comprehensive and well-rounded training that supports both professional competence and clinical confidence.
