Experiential Dance of Awareness Weekend

If you are interested in how movement can not only uncover our histories within our bodies this is the weekend for you. The training offers participants the opportunity to release what we have held and experience something new, during this introduction of Dance of Awareness.

Information:

Dance of awareness (DoA) is a group movement practice, where participants are invited to re-experience childhood years as the group dances together through different stages. DoA is influenced by several sources, combining body approaches with psychoanalytic child development theory.

During this two-day training, we will touch upon the theory itself to give some structure to the experience, before slowly introducing students to some of the exercises involved and finishing by completing a full Dance of Awareness cycle as a group.

This training is for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of working with the body and specifically movement; who wishes to know themselves further and craves an embodied approach to learning.

Learning objections:

• To experience first-hand the power of movement

• To gain a taste of this unique therapeutic movement practice

• To understand how our histories are held in our bodies

• To experience the healing quality of relationships, music and movement

Dates: To be confirmed
